LAD202/ 3D modelling with AutoCAD and AutoCAD Civil 3D
Part 2 of LAD202 is about 3D-modelling with AutoCAD (session 1) and AutoCAD Civil 3D (session 2-6). Lecture notes, exerecises and datasets for doing the exercises have now been uploaded and are available for download on the right hand side coloumn under the category: LAD202/2010 announcements.Currently there are handouts for the fist 4 sessions covering 3D modelling in AutoCAD and the basic concepts and techniques for creating 3D models. Next the sessions covers the basics for starting to use Civil 3D as a tool for creating terrain models using surfaces. Surfaces are created using different techniqes (points, contours) and later on we look at the powerfull tools of using Feature Lines and Grading in Civil 3D. Powerfull, but still hard to master for those of us who are not fond of dialogue boxes!
In the following lectures we will look more into connecting Civil 3D with Google Earth and Google Sketchup, and also take a look at alignments and sections (profiles).
There are also some video recordings made available for the different exercises and they will also be uploaded. Soon (not before).
